GENERATION GAP

A difference in Values and Attitudes between one generation and another, especially between young people and their parents.

More specifically, a Generation Gap can be used to describe the differences in actions, beliefs, tastes, etc. between members of younger generations when compared to members of older generations.

Attitude is a way of thinking or feeling about someone or something.

A generation gap occurs when older & younger people don't understand each other because of their difference in opinion, experience and nature.

The main reasons i think for Generation Gap are :-

1. Most of today's Youth are influenced by Growing Western Standards and Culture. Be it Music, Behavior, Cloths, Fashion, Trends everything.

2. Education System :- Earlier people did not give whole attention to the studies. The competition was not so much. Focus was on the over all development. But now a days students spend more time in academics. The interaction between parents and children is very less.

3. Internet and Technology :- We are living in a smart world. Children spend their more time on internet for chatting and on mobile phones. So their social skills are spoiling.

There are a few more things that can be blamed. Lack of spirituality, The media etc. which play their part in their own way.

Moreover, the elder generations hold fast to tradition and old customs, which they consider as part of their cultural heritage or social values. Younger generations, however, prefer to adopt modern values, and as a result they create their own ways of behavior.

There always has been generation gap since the dawn of civilization. Old people act like a frog in the well. They are fully convinced with their ideas as ultimate and ideal. They ignore certain vital factors that are no longer valid in modern days. The young have always deviated from the older standards and it is good that they do or there wouldn't have been any progress today.

Bridging the Generation Gap :-

1. Lots of Communication and Involvement :- Try to increase the communication with children and show your presence in their activities.

2. Spend time together in Fun and Play

3. Clear Boundaries :- Keep free each other by giving freedom without worries.

4. Clear Values :- Make clear that both should respect other's opinions.

It is a fact of life that the Generation Gap or "Clash" is something that has existed and will continue to exist as long as man exists on this earth.

According to the data provided by Swiss Banking Association Report(2006) “Indian Black Money >= Black Money of Entire World”. Indian Swiss Bank account assets are worth 13th times the country’s national debt.

Now the matter is that, a normal person needs three basic things Roti, Kapda or Makan, but he is not getting all this due to corruption.
When whole the regulatory body of India from Peons to the District Collectors are well educated, then how can we elect the illetrate leaders for Parliament to rule the country?
This is the time to wake up and fight against corruption. Don’t select your leaders on the basis of casteism, region, language. Select them by their ability. It’s time to “Cut the Roots of Corruption”.

Consumer Protection Law

Wake Up for Consumer Rights

Consumer Protection Laws are designed to ensure fair trade competition and free flow of truthful information in the marketplace. The Laws are designed to prevent businesses that engage in fraud or specified unfair practices from gaining an advantage over competitors and may provide additional protection for the weak and those unable to take care of themselves.Consumer Protection Laws are designed by Government, which aim to protect the rights of consumer.

On March 15,1962 US President John F Kennedy made a historical speech about Consumer Rights as he introduced 'The Consumer Bill Of Rights' in the US Congress.Ever since countries all over the world have celebrated March 15, as the Consumer's Day.
However in India December 24, is celebrated as the National Consumer Day.Since the Consumer Protection Act,1986 was enacted on this day by the Indian Parliament.

In the Consumer Protection Act,1986 of India, the following six Consumer Rights have been recognized.
1. Right of Safety :-The right to protect from all types of hazardous goods and services.
2. Right to Information :-The right to be informed about the quality, quantity, potency, purity, standard and price of goods to protect the consumer against unfair trade practices.

6. Right to Consumer Education :-The right to complete consumer education.

Even though strong and clear laws exist in India to protect consumer rights, the actual plight of Indian consumer could be declared as completely dismal.Very few consumers are aware of their basic Consumer Rights. This act was enacted in the 37th year of the Republic of India and was amended from time to time in the following years i.e. 1991, 1993, 2002.

An Act to provide for better protection of the interests of consumer and for that purpose to make provision for the establishment of consumer councils and other authorities for the settlement of consumer's disputes and for matters connected therewith.
