GAGA IS SUED OVER JAPAN CHARITY 'CON'

LADY GaGa is being sued for more than £3million after being accused of pocketing funds raised for Japanese earthquake survivors.

The Poker Face singer, 25, has been selling We Pray For Japan wristbands for £3.10 plus £2.49 for shipping and 37p for taxes.
But she allegedly ripped off fans by not giving all proceeds to the victims of the March catastrophe.
A law firm based in Detroit, Michigan, has filed a suit against the singer — real name Stefani Germanotta — hours before she headlined a gig in aid of Japan at the weekend.
Lawyers at 1-800-LAW-FIRM claim she inflated the costs of the wristbands and took the extra cash.
They also say the singer refused to say how much of the £5.96 charged for the accessory actually goes to the victims.
Alyson Oliver, who filed the suit at a federal court, added: "When you use your celebrity and your power as a musician to take money from people under false pretenses, that's just wrong.
"When we tried to communicate with the defendants in this lawsuit, all we got was: 'Well, some of the money is being retained, but we don't really know how much.'
"If the money was going to the right place rather than into the defendant's pocket, then I hope that our effort helps that."
Colleague Ari Kresh added: "I'm suing Lady GaGa simply to hold her accountable for giving the money that she was raising for charity to the cause that she was trying to raise it for."
The singer has yet to respond to the suit.

POLITICAL SEX SCANDALS

Anthony Weiner

The Democratic New York congressman admitted June 6 to tweeting lewd photos of himself, a week after he denied it and claimed his account had been hacked. He also admitted to several "inappropriate" communications with other women over the past three years. Weiner, who married an aide to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton in 2010, had been considered a possible contender in the New York City mayoral race.

Arnold Schwarzenegger

The two-term California governor admitted in May to fathering a child with his longtime housekeeper in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. Despite accusations by several women that he had sexually harassed them, he won the 2003 gubernatorial recall election. The movie star and Kennedy scion Maria Shriver had been married since 1986. They have four children together.

John Ensign

The former Nevada senator announced his resignation in April amid a congressional ethics investigation stemming from his affair with a staffer. In 2009, Ensign admitted that he had an affair with a former aide whose husband also worked for the Republican. It was later revealed that Ensign's parents paid the couple $96,000 after the husband left his job in the senator's office.

Chris Lee

The New York congressman resigned in February after the gossip website Gawker disclosed that the married Republican had e-mailed a shirtless picture of himself to a woman he met through Craigslist. Lee was first elected to Congress in 2008.

Mark Souder

The Indiana Republican resigned his House seat in May 2010, after admitting to an affair with a female aide. The religious conservative, elected as part of the 1994 Republican takeover of Congress, said he "sinned against God, my wife and my family" by having what he described as a mutual relationship with a part-time staffer.

Eric Massa

The New York congressman attributed his March 2010 resignation to his failing health and also admitted that he made inappropriate comments to a male staffer. The House Ethics Committee investigated the Democrat's conduct.

Mark Sanford

The South Carolina governor finished his term after admitting to an affair with an Argentinian woman he called his "soul mate." The Republican admitted to the affair at a hastily arranged news conference hours after returning from Buenos Aires in June 2009. His spokesman had previously said the married governor and father of four young sons went hiking on the Appalachian Trail to unwind.

John Edwards

The former Democratic vice presidential candidate admitted to an extramarital affair with a campaign videographer in August 2008. However, he did not acknowledge paternity of his mistress's child until January 2010. His wife, Elizabeth, died in December 2010 after a long battle with cancer. They had four children together.

Eliot Spitzer

The Democratic New York governor resigned in March 2008 after reports identified him as Client No. 9 in a federal investigation into a prostitution ring. Spitzer apologized to his wife, Silda, who stood by him at the news conference, and their three teenage daughters. He now hosts a talk show on CNN.

Larry Craig

The Republican Idaho senator was arrested June 2007 by police investigating sexual activity in a Minneapolis airport men's room. At a news conference, he said his behavior was misinterpreted and that he was not gay. Later that summer, he said he would resign and then changed his mind and finished out his term.

David Vitter

The married Louisiana senator was linked by phone records to a Washington call girl ring in July 2007. The Republican won 57% of the vote in his 2010 re-election campaign.

Mark Foley

The Florida Republican resigned in September 2006 after being confronted with illicit e-mails and instant messages he allegedly sent to Capitol Hill pages, who are high school students who run errands for lawmakers and learn about Congress.

Jim McGreevey

The Democratic New Jersey governor resigned in November 2004 after admitting to an extramarital affair with a man. He and his wife, Dina, who stood by his side at the news conference, each wrote books detailing the affair.

Newt Gingrich

The former House speaker acknowledged in March 2007 that he had an extramarital affair as he led the charge against President Clinton over the Monica Lewinsky affair in 1998. The Republican is currently running for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination.

Bill Clinton

In January 1998, the Democratic president told the nation that "I did not have sexual relations with that woman," in reference to charges that he had an affair with 22-year-old White House intern Monica Lewinsky. He later admitted their involvement and faced an impeachment trial in Congress.

COLOMBIA'S CRUDE BULLFIGHTING

Hundreds of Colombians dare to take on furious bulls every year in corraleja, not-so-traditional bullfighting.
A bull is covered with foam during a "corraleja," a traditional Colombian festivity in which several bulls are fought at the same time, in Sabaneta.

In these Roman-circus-like bullfights, the bulls are released into a vast, throbbing arena, to be faced down by a squadron of horsemen armed with long pikes.

Many men choose to dress up during corraleja. In the photo, a man performs before the bullfight.

Corraleja is very different from the traditional Spanish bullfighting, where the bullfighters wear sequined outfits and use ritualized artistry. In the photo, Spanish matador David Fandilla, a.k.a. "El Fandi," participates in a bullfight at La Macarena bullring in Medellin, Colombia.

Colombian bullfighting does not involve any stirring between the bull and tereros, the fighters. The ring is swarmed with several men who dare to take part. In the photo, a man pulls a bull during a bullfight in Sabaneta.

The bulls are relased into the arena one after another, to be faced by men on horses, who are armed with pikes and sticks.

Among the bullfighters are several amateurs who come for the glory. In the photo, a man fights a bull with an umbrella in Sabaneta, Colombia.

There could be more than 100 men intoxicated with bravado, alcohol and the music of the band that is there to stimulate the courage and valor of the participants. It's everyone against the bulls. In the photo, a man is lifted by a bull during a fight in Sabaneta.

Compared with the bullfights in Mexico City, where bulls have names like "Jalapeno," "Guajillo" or "Habanero," or in Spain, where they are killed at the end of the festival, the bulls in the Colombian corralejas are simply beasts that will live to see another day and another corraleja.

AL QAEDA CREATES 'HIT LIST' OF PROMINENT AMERICANS WITH NAMES,PICTURES;HOME ADDRESSESS SOUGHT

Al Qaeda has created a "hit list" with the names and photos of some of the most prominent Americans in business and government, according to a report.
The list, posted on a jihadist website, contains the names of 40 people who work in politics, media, finance, industry and military contracting, NBC New York reported.
Twenty-six people are pictured. Their names were not released.
The site encourages posters to add the home addresses of the targets so that terror thugs can send them mail bombs.
"What's scary about this is how specific the individual information is," former New York State Homeland Security Director Michael Balboni told NBC. "What you don't know is, when does aspirational become operational in cases like this, involving a possible lone actor here inspired by a website."
The FBI has alerted the people who appear on the list and warned law enforcement agencies.
But the Feds also stressed that Al Qaeda is notorious for empty, web-based threats.
News of the hit list comes as the terror network made it official that Osama Bin Laden's longtime top lieutenant, Ayman al-Zawahri, would take over as the new No. 1.
